Prabhat Textile Corporation

Our place is located right near Chepirog Hospital, so people usually use that as a landmark when they are trying to find Prabhat Textile Corporation. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main market, but we still have plenty to do inside. We deal with stacks of fabric all day. Some days the colors are so bright they hurt your eyes, and other days it’s just rolls of plain white cloth piled up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and making sure the orders are packed right. It’s mostly just a few of us moving things around and answering the phone when it rings. The building is older, and you can hear the rain on the roof pretty loud during the monsoon. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. Just a space where we work and store the textiles. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost and call us from the hospital gate, and we have to go out and wave them down. It’s just the way it goes here. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the way we handle our textiles hasn’t changed much. We just keep our heads down and try to stay organized, even if the paperwork gets a bit messy sometimes. It’s honest work, and we’re used to the smell of new fabric in the morning.
