Pidilite Industires Ltd

Looking back at our time in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, there is a lot of history there. We were working alongside the Wagh Bakri Tea Group for a long stretch, specifically from the middle of October in 1991 all the way through to September in 1997. It was a different time back then for Pidilite Industires Ltd. We had our setup there and things moved at a different pace in those years. The association with the tea group was a major part of how we operated in that specific location. We dealt with a lot of local distributors across Gujarat during those six years. It wasn’t always easy, but we kept things moving. The office environment was pretty traditional. We used to keep track of everything manually mostly. Those dates from 1991 to 1997 represent a specific chapter for us in Ahmedabad. We moved around a bit after that, but that period stays in the records. Most of the staff from that era have moved on or retired, but the work we did there laid some ground for what we do now. It was a hot place to work in the summers, but the tea was always good. We didn't have much in the way of fancy computers back then, just a lot of ledgers and phone calls. It was about getting the industrial products to the people who needed them in the city and beyond. We remember that time as being very busy and quite focused on building up our presence in the region.
