Philbrick Controls India

Philbrick Controls India is located over at 8/B, Satadhar Estate Part-I on Nikol Road. It’s an industrial estate, so there are always trucks coming and going. The noise from the road is pretty constant. We work on control systems and mechanical parts. Our space is divided between a small office area and the main assembly floor. It’s usually quite warm in the summer because the roof is made of metal sheets. We have a few big pedestal fans that we move around to stay cool. There are bins full of wires, switches, and metal casings everywhere. It’s not the neatest place you’ve ever seen. We have a whiteboard where we scrawl the daily tasks, but half of it is covered in old notes that won’t rub off anymore. We spend a lot of time testing the components before they get packed into crates. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains from a leak we had a couple of years ago. We drink tea out of small glass cups that we get from the stall down the road. It’s a very hands-on type of job. We don’t wear suits here; it’s usually just jeans and shirts that we don’t mind getting a bit of grease on. Nikol Road is always busy, and sometimes it takes forever just to pull out of the estate at the end of the shift. We are just a local crew.
