Sajan Overseas is located at Plot No. 605/A in Phase-4 of the GIDC in Vatva. This is a big industrial estate, and Phase-4 is usually buzzing with activity. We handle a lot of overseas trade, which basically means we spend half our lives dealing with shipping containers and customs forms. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication with people in different time zones, so the office is often active at odd hours. The space itself is pretty functional—lots of filing cabinets, a few sturdy desks, and maps on the wall. We don't have fancy carpets or designer furniture because this is a working warehouse environment. You can hear the forklifts moving outside most of the day. Dealing with international logistics can be a real headache when a ship is delayed or the paperwork gets stuck, but we’ve learned to stay calm and just work through the problems one by one. We’re a small group of people who know the business inside and out. We don’t make big promises we can't keep; we just tell people what the situation is and do our best to get their goods where they need to go. It’s steady, demanding work that keeps us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We have been in this spot for a long time, and the neighbors in the estate know us well enough by now. Even the security guards at the main gate wave us through every morning when we roll in to start the day.
