If you are looking for Sainath Ice Factory, we are over at Plot No. 3018/B in Phase-4, GIDC Vatva. It’s a cold place to work, which is a nice change from the heat outside in the summer. You can hear the hum of the compressors from the street. We’ve been making ice here for a long time. It’s a simple process, but it takes a lot of watching and waiting. We have big tanks and rows of molds that we fill every day. It’s heavy work, pulling those blocks out once they’re frozen solid. My hands are usually cold even in the middle of May. We supply to a lot of the local shops and vendors who need to keep things chilled. They usually come by with their tempos early in the morning to pick up their loads. Sometimes we have to work through the night if there’s a big demand. The floor is always wet, so we have to wear rubber boots all day. It’s not a fancy job, and the building at 3018/B is just a plain concrete structure, but it serves its purpose. We don't have any big slogans or advertisements. People just know we are here when they need ice for their business or a function. We keep the machines maintained as best as we can, though they are getting on in years. It’s a steady business and it keeps us busy throughout the year. We are just local guys doing our job.
