Renovate Winding Works

At Plot No. 2016 in GIDC Vatva, you’ll find Renovate Winding Works. We mostly deal with motors and rewinding jobs. It’s the kind of work that requires a lot of patience because you’re dealing with thin copper wire and tight spaces. The shop floor is usually full of motors in different stages of being taken apart or put back together. We’ve got a small team here. Most of them have been doing winding for years and can do it almost with their eyes closed, though they obviously don’t. We see all kinds of motors come through the door, some from small shops and some from the bigger factories nearby in Phase-4. It’s a bit of a messy job with the old varnish and the burnt-out coils, but seeing a motor run again after we’ve finished is a good feeling. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. People just know that if a motor stops, they can bring it to us at Plot 2016. We give them a fair idea of when it will be ready and then we get to work. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. Other than that, it’s just the sound of wire being pulled and the occasional hammer. We’re just a local business trying to do a solid job for the people around here.
