About Indo German Tool Room (Govt Of India Society) – Education in Ahmedabad
The Indo German Tool Room is a bit of a staple here in Phase-4 of GIDC, Vatva. We are spread across a few plots, specifically Plot No. 5003 - 5009. Even though it says Govt of India Society on the sign, when you are inside, it feels like any other busy workshop. There is a lot of heavy machinery and students or workers learning how to use them. It is a place for learning and making tools, so it is always a bit crowded. We have been part of the landscape here for a long time. The atmosphere is more about education and practical skill than just pure business. You will see people bent over lathes or checking measurements on a screen. It isn't a quiet place. There is always the hum of electricity and the sound of metal being shaped. We don't have a PR person writing fancy stories about us. We just show up at the plot, open the doors, and get to the training and production. The buildings are functional, built for work rather than looks. We have seen a lot of people come through these gates, learn a trade, and move on to other things. It makes us feel like we are doing something useful for the local area. The tea stall nearby is where most of us end up during breaks, talking about the day's work.
