Our place is a bit spread out across Plot No. 3702 B & C and 3701 C here in Vatva. It’s easy to get turned around between the different sections if you aren't used to it. Draft Air India Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this corner of Phase-4 for quite some time now. The workspace is filled with the sound of metal being cut and the hum of big industrial fans. It’s never really quiet during the day. We have a lot of guys moving parts back and forth between the buildings. The floors are concrete and get pretty scuffed up from the heavy trolleys we use. Most of the staff comes from the nearby areas, so there’s a lot of local chatter during the breaks. We don’t have fancy rugs or air conditioning in the main workshop, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. Sometimes the rain gets in during the monsoon and we have to move things away from the entrance. Dealing with the logistics of three different plot sections can be a headache, especially when a delivery truck is blocking the narrow lane between them. But we’ve figured out a system that works for us. Usually, by the time we lock up, the industrial noise of the GIDC has started to fade just a little bit.
