Gujarat Foundries

Gujarat Foundries is over at Plot No. 63 in Phase-1 of the GIDC in Vatva. Being in Phase-1 means we are in one of the older parts of the estate. The foundry work is heavy and hot, so our plot isn't a place for someone who likes to stay clean. There’s soot and metal dust, and the roar of the furnace is something you feel in your chest. We’ve been here for a long time, and the walls of Plot 63 show the age of the business. It’s a tough job, but the crew we have is used to it. We don’t have any polished floors or air-conditioned offices. We just have the floor where the casting happens and a small desk for the paperwork. Vatva is a gritty place, but there’s a lot of real work happening here every single day. We don’t try to sound like anything other than what we are: a foundry. We make parts and we do it day in and day out. The traffic in Phase-1 can be a mess, especially when the big trailers are trying to turn. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on the heat and the metal. After work, we’re all pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. It’s just how we’ve always done things here at our little spot in Vatva. We hope to keep it going for many more years despite the hard conditions of the job. It’s what we know how to do best, and we take pride in getting the metal poured right.
