Over at Plot No. 7608 in Phase-4 of the GIDC in Vatva, you’ll find us, Safex Electromech Pvt. Ltd. We deal with electromechanical equipment, which mostly means things that help move other heavy things around. Our workshop is quite tall because we need the height for the structures we work on. It’s a place of welding sparks and heavy steel beams. We don’t have a fancy showroom because our products are usually too big to put in one anyway. If you want to see what we do, you just walk onto the shop floor. It’s a busy environment. We spend a lot of time checking the electrical panels and making sure the motors are synchronized. It’s not the kind of work you can do half-heartedly. Safety is something we think about because the equipment is heavy and stays over people’s heads. We keep our records in a simple way and our guys are more comfortable with a wrench than a computer. We’ve been at this plot for years and we know the GIDC layout like the back of our hand. We aren't here to give sales pitches. We just build the equipment as per the requirements we get. If it works well and the customer is happy, then we’ve done our job right. That’s the reality of life here at Plot 7608.
