At Plot No. 5208 in Phase-4, things stay pretty busy from Monday to Saturday. Energy Equipments isn’t a huge operation, but we stay focused on what’s in front of us. The workshop is mostly full of heavy iron parts and welding tools. You have to watch your step because there’s usually something being worked on right in the middle of the floor. The walls are painted a dull blue, though most of that is covered by calendars and old clipboards now. Our neighbors in Vatva are mostly into chemicals or textiles, so we stick out a bit with all our mechanical stuff. The office is just a small corner partitioned off with some plywood and glass. It gets dusty fast, so someone is always trying to sweep up, but it never stays clean for long. We drink a lot of tea to keep going, especially in the afternoons when the heat under the tin roof gets intense. The guys on the floor have been with us for years, so they know exactly where every wrench and bolt is kept. We don't really bother with big meetings; we just talk over the noise of the grinders. When the work is done, we wash the grease off our hands and head home. It’s a simple way to make a living, but it works for us.
