Out here at Plot No. 3824 in Phase-4, things are a little bit different than the older parts of GIDC. It feels a bit more open, but the work is just as hard. We’ve got our setup here where we handle various industrial jobs. The building is a simple square structure with a big metal door that we roll up every morning at eight. Inside, it’s mostly just open floor space filled with our equipment and piles of raw materials. We don’t have a lot of staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute you’re checking a ledger and the next you’re helping load a crate onto a tempo. The dust in Vatva is something else, especially in the dry months, so we spend a lot of time just trying to keep the machines clean. We don’t bother with big slogans or fancy mission statements. Our goal is just to finish the work that’s on the table today so we can start fresh tomorrow. If you come by Plot 3824, you’ll probably find us mid-task. It’s a practical way of living. We’ve got a small kettle for making tea and a few plastic chairs for when visitors come by to talk business.
