Personal Supervision Of Construction Work.

My work is based out of 25/3 Govt. ' L ' Colony in Ambawadi, right near Sahajanand College in Ahmedabad. What I do is pretty simple to explain but hard to actually do: I stand on construction sites and make sure things are being built the right way. I spend more time in the dust and heat than I do in the office. If the bricks aren't level or the cement mix isn't right, I'm the one who has to tell the workers to fix it. It’s about being there in person, not just looking at drawings from a distance. I started this because I saw too many buildings being put up with mistakes. Now, I go from site to site around Gujarat. My home base in the colony is where I keep the tools and the blueprints. It’s a practical life. I talk to the masons, the plumbers, and the owners. There’s no fancy talk here, just checking the work against the plan. Sometimes I have to argue a bit to get things done correctly, but that’s part of the job. Being near the college is handy for landmarks, but mostly I am out in the field. I’ve seen all kinds of weather while standing on a half-finished roof. It’s dirty work and my clothes are usually covered in white dust, but seeing a wall go up straight is a good feeling at the end of a long day.
