We are located at 801 Suyojan Complex, right near the President Hotel on C G Road in Ahmedabad. It’s a busy area and the noise from the street usually comes right through the windows during the day. We’ve been doing freight work here for quite a while now. Most days are spent on the phone or staring at computer screens tracking shipments that are halfway across the world. It’s not very glamorous work but it is what we do. The office is a bit crowded with files and stacks of old ledgers that we probably should have thrown out years ago. We handle a lot of logistics stuff, mostly moving cargo for local businesses that need to get their products out of the city. Sometimes things get delayed at the port or there’s a problem with the trucks, and that’s when the stress starts. We just try to keep things moving as best as we can without making too many mistakes. The building lift is temperamental, so we often take the stairs if we are in a rush. It keeps us moving, I guess. We aren’t a big fancy operation with a glass front, just a regular group of people working in a regular office. Most of us have worked together for a long time so we know how to handle the busy periods when everyone is shouting for their delivery. We just get on with it every morning and try to finish the paperwork before the day ends.
