If you come down to 226, GST Road in Urapakkam, you’ll find us at Patel Timber Company. It’s a busy spot and you can usually smell the fresh-cut wood as soon as you get close. We spend our days moving planks around, loading up trucks, and talking to carpenters or people who are just trying to fix up something at their house. We’ve got all sorts of wood here, depending on what came in on the last delivery. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually covered in a bit of sawdust. We’ve been at this location for a good while now, and we know most of the regulars who come in. We don't have a showroom with fancy lighting; it’s just a yard with stacks of timber and a small office where we handle the payments and paperwork. Sometimes the traffic on GST Road makes it hard for the delivery trucks to get in and out, but we manage. We aren't into big sales pitches. If you need a certain type of wood for a door or a frame, we’ll show you what we have and tell you the price. We try to keep things honest and simple. It’s a local business run by people who know a thing or two about timber. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, rain or shine.
