You can find us at K.V. Chambers on Godown Street. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know how packed the streets are with people moving rolls of cloth and heavy bundles. Our office is at number 23, and it has that old-school feel to it. We still have some of the old wooden furniture and ledgers that have been around since before I started here. We don’t use much in the way of modern tech, aside from the essentials. The air in Godown Street always feels a bit heavy with the scent of new textiles and dust. We spend our time talking to traders and managing the stock that comes through the door. It’s a business built on long-standing relationships; we’ve known some of our suppliers for decades. It’s not about being the biggest or the most famous. It’s just about being reliable and showing up every day to handle the trade. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep and narrow, and the lights sometimes flicker, but it’s home to us. We stay busy with the paperwork and the constant coming and going of messengers. It’s a traditional way of doing things, and we don’t see much reason to change it as long as it works. The market has its own pace, and we just follow along with it.
