The office is up on the third floor of the Landmark building, right there across from H.D.F.C. House. It gets pretty loud at Mithakhali Six Roads with all the traffic coming through Navrangpura. Parker Multi-Commodities (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been operating from this spot in Ahmedabad for a while now. Dealing with commodities means the phones are always ringing and someone is usually checking prices on a screen. It’s a busy atmosphere, not really the kind of place where things stay quiet for long. We have a small team here, and we all know our roles pretty well. It’s mostly about coordinating between different suppliers and making sure the logistics side doesn’t fall apart. The office itself is practical. We’ve got desks, some filing cabinets that probably need organizing, and the usual coffee machine that everyone uses. Sometimes the elevators in the building are slow, so we end up taking the stairs. Navrangpura is a central spot, which makes it easier for people to find us, though parking can be a bit of a headache. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or anything like that. We just focus on the trade and making sure our records are straight. It’s steady work, day in and day out. We deal with various goods, and every day brings a different set of numbers to look at. It’s just how we run things here in the office.
