Out here in Phase-4 of GIDC Vatva, things are mostly about manufacturing and heavy industry. Our place at 3226 is a basic industrial shed where we handle various types of cables. It’s not a quiet place because the machines are usually running, making a steady rhythmic sound. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved, moving big wooden spools of wire from one corner to another. The floor is concrete and usually has some scraps of copper or plastic laying around. We try to keep it tidy, but in this line of work, a bit of a mess is normal. We wear heavy boots and keep our sleeves rolled up. Most of the guys here have been working together for a long time, so we have our own way of doing things without needing to talk too much. Lunch is usually eaten together on a bench outside when the weather is nice. The GIDC area can be quite dusty, and the sun beats down on the metal roof, but we’ve got used to the heat over the years. We don't have a big office with air conditioning; we just have a small corner with a table and a computer for the accounts. It’s honest work, and we take pride in just getting the cables made and shipped out to whoever needs them. We don't bother with anything flashy. If the machines are running and the orders are moving, it’s a good day for us.
