Paras Nursing Home

Our nursing home is tucked away in the Shahpur Mill Compound. It’s near the Shah Bahai Centre. The area has an old feel to it, with the industrial history of the mill compound surrounding us. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re new to Shahpur, but locals know it well. The building itself has high ceilings and some old-fashioned windows. It gets a bit drafty in the winter months. We have a few rooms for patients and a small nursing station. It’s a quiet place for the most part, unless there’s something going on in the compound. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. The staff has been here for years. We know which floorboards creak and which light switches are a bit finicky. There’s no big sign with flashing lights, just our name on the gate. We keep things tidy but it’s an old space, so there’s always a bit of character to it. People come here because it’s close to home. We spend our days checking on people, making sure they’ve had their meals and their medicine. It’s steady work. The Shah Bahai Centre is a good landmark if you’re trying to find the turn-off into the compound. Once you’re inside the Shahpur Mill area, you just follow the path. It’s a simple setup for simple care.
