Paras Bearing Centre

Our shop is located at 586/8 on Nawa Darwaja Road, right near Zakaria Masjid Street. If you’re coming from Relief Road, it’s not too hard to find us once you get into the side streets. We focus on bearings. We have thousands of them in all different sizes and types. They are all kept in these small drawers and boxes that line the walls. It takes a long time to learn where everything is. My brother and I run the place most days. We get a lot of walk-in customers, mostly mechanics or people trying to fix their own machines. They bring in a bearing that has seized up, and we find them a new one that fits. It’s a lot of looking through catalogs and measuring things with calipers. The shop is small and can get a bit cramped when there are more than three people inside. We have an old fan that squeaks, but it helps with the heat. We don’t use any fancy computers for our inventory; we still write most things down in a big book. Sometimes the street outside gets blocked by a cart or a delivery, and it gets very loud with people shouting. We just keep working. We’ve been here for many years and have seen the neighborhood change, but bearings are always something people need. We just try to keep enough stock so nobody leaves empty-handed.
