You can find us on the first floor at 1176, right in the middle of the bustle at Pankor Naka. We are directly across from the Gujarat Steel Works, which is a big landmark in this area. Being on the first floor means we have to haul everything up a set of stairs, which keeps us busy. The view out the window is mostly just the steel works and the constant stream of people and rickshaws on the street below. Pankor Naka is an old part of the city, and the buildings are packed tightly together. Our space is functional, with plenty of room for our supplies and a small area where we handle the day-to-day paperwork. It gets quite noisy during the peak hours of the market, with all the shouting and the engines. We don't have any shiny furniture or a big lobby. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. We’ve got a small stove in the corner for making tea, which is essential for getting through the long afternoons. The walls are painted a simple off-white and there are stacks of files and boxes everywhere. It feels like a real part of the old market here. We know the other shopkeepers around us and we all look out for each other. It’s a steady place to work, and we’ve gotten used to the fast pace of the neighborhood.
