Orange Stone International

The Shendra Industrial Area is quite big, and we are tucked away at A-2/1 in the five-star MIDC section. It is a long drive for some of us to get here every morning, but the space is what we need for the stones. We deal with a lot of heavy material, so the trucks are always coming and going throughout the day. You can usually hear the sound of the loading bay from the main road if the wind is blowing the right way. The office is right next to where we keep the stock, so there is always a bit of dust on the windows and the chairs. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment comes in, the whole floor gets a bit chaotic for a few days. We usually eat our lunch together in the small break room because there aren’t many shops nearby to get a quick meal. It is quiet out here compared to the city center, which is nice in its own way. We have a couple of guys who have been here since the MIDC first started developing this part of Shendra. Most of our time is spent checking the quality of the stone and making sure the labels are correct. It is repetitive work, but it keeps us busy. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything; some things are still written down in the big ledger on the front desk. It is just how we have always done things.
