Om Surgical Hospital & Maternity Home is located on the second floor of Heritage Plaza, right on Drive In Road in the Gurukul area of Ahmedabad. Dr. Sejal H Shah is the one running things here. Being on the second floor of a plaza means we are a bit removed from the constant noise of the Ahmedabad traffic, though you can still hear the horns honking down on Drive In Road if the windows are open. It’s a surgical center and a maternity home, so we see a wide range of patients. Some people are here for planned surgeries, while others are here for the birth of a child. Heritage Plaza is a well-known building in the 380052 area, so people usually don't have much trouble finding us. The space inside isn't massive, but we’ve organized it to make the most of the rooms we have. We don't go in for fancy lighting or designer furniture. Everything here is chosen because it’s easy to clean and does what it’s supposed to do for the patients. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write a polished mission statement for us. We just focus on the surgeries and the deliveries. Some days are long and we get tired, but that’s just how medical work goes. We’ve been part of the Gurukul community for a while now and we just keep doing our daily rounds and helping out.
