Our printing place is tucked away in Gopinath Estate, specifically Plot No. 35 near Sohan Complex. You can smell the ink as soon as you turn the corner by Soni’s Chal. It’s a distinctive smell, a mix of chemicals and paper that sticks to your clothes. We’ve got the big printing presses running most of the day, so the floor vibrates a little bit under your feet. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have stacks of paper and rolls of plastic everywhere. We don’t have a lot of room for a waiting area, so people usually just stand by the main door while we check their proofs. The light in here is a bit dim, but it’s enough to see if the colors are lining up right. We’ve had some of these machines for years and they need a lot of oil and attention to stay running smooth. It’s a messy job, and by five o'clock, everyone has ink on their hands and maybe a smudge on their face. We don’t do anything fancy with marketing or big ads. People just know we’re here in Part-1 of the estate. It’s a loud, busy environment, but there’s something nice about seeing a finished stack of prints ready to go. We just keep our heads down and watch the rollers spin. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it a long time now.
