Icon Plast

Icon Plast is located in Jagannath Estate, which is a pretty busy area near the Odhav Road circle. We have a shop floor where we handle different kinds of plastic work and molding. It’s not a very quiet place because the machines are running most of the day, but we are all used to the noise by now. The heat in Ahmedabad can be really something, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the roof. We have some big fans but they mostly just move the warm air around. The daily routine starts around eight in the morning when the guys arrive and we check what orders need to be finished first. We don't have any fancy office furniture or a big sign outside. Most people who need us already know where we are in the estate. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend half the day fixing a motor or a belt. It’s just how it is with machinery. We eat our lunch together in a small corner of the workspace. My brother handles the deliveries while I stay here to watch the floor. We try to keep things organized but with all the crates and raw materials piled up, it can get a bit crowded. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we lock up the shutters at night. We’ve been here for a while and the neighbors are all good people who help out when needed.
