Our shop is Hmv Tex Dyes Corporation and you can find us at L-217 in the Gidc area of Odhav. We are right near the Odhav Telephone Exchange, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find us for the first time. The air around here always smells a bit like chemicals and dust because of all the factories. Inside our unit, we handle different dyes for the textile industry. You will often see splashes of color on the floor or on our aprons because that is just the nature of working with these powders and liquids. It is messy work but someone has to do it. Ahmedabad is a big place for cloth, so being in Odhav makes sense for what we do. We have been here for years, watching the telephone exchange building get older while the traffic on the main road gets worse. The unit itself is a standard Gidc shed with high ceilings and not much light except for what comes through the front door. We keep our logs in big dusty ledgers and try to keep the stock organized, though it’s hard when new shipments arrive every other day. Most of our regular visitors are from the local mills. They come in, grab what they need, and we have a quick chat about the weather or the price of materials. It is a straightforward life here in the industrial zone, and we don't try to make it seem like anything else.
