We are located near the New Water Tank in Gidc, which is a good landmark because everyone knows where that is. Darpan Denims Pvt. Ltd. occupies Plot No. 333/334. Dealing with fabric is a messy business sometimes, with lint everywhere and the hum of the machines never really stopping. We have a lot of rolls of denim stacked up in the corners. It’s heavy work, moving those things around. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it's hot outside, which is nice. We aren't a massive operation, but we stay busy enough that nobody sits around much. Most of our workers live nearby and walk or bike in. It’s a tight-knit group. We don't bother with fancy slogans or advertising campaigns. People who need denim usually find us through word of mouth or by seeing the trucks out front. The office is just a small room with a desk and some old chairs where we drink tea in the afternoon. Sometimes we have issues with the water supply, ironic since we're near the tank, but we get by. It’s just a straightforward place doing straightforward work. Nothing more to it. We try to keep the machinery greased and the orders moving. It’s been our routine for a long time now, and we don't plan on changing much. The neighbors are good people and we all look out for each other on this block.
