Bearing & Tools Center

We are based at Plot No. B/14 on the ground floor of the Jayraj Complex. It’s right by the Soni Ni Chawl Cross Road, so there is always a lot of foot traffic and noise from the street. At Bearing & Tools Center, we keep a lot of stock on the shelves. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to fit every kind of bearing and hand tool you can think of. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we usually have to use a flashlight to find the smaller parts. I’ve been working behind this counter for a long time. You meet all sorts of people coming in from the nearby workshops looking for a specific bolt or a replacement bearing. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people knowing we are here at the cross road. It gets busy in the mornings when everyone is starting their shifts. Sometimes we run out of space for all the boxes, so they spill out onto the sidewalk a little bit. We try to keep the inventory straight, but it’s a lot to track. It’s a decent place to work, even if the traffic noise never really stops. The humid weather makes the metal parts feel cold and damp in the mornings. There is a small shrine near the entrance where we light a bit of incense every morning before we open the shutters. People often stop by just to ask for directions because of where we are located.
