We are located in Radheshyam Estate, which is part of the Odhav industrial area. If you take the Sardar Patel Ring Road, you are basically right there. It is a busy spot with trucks constantly backing in and out of the narrow lanes. The air around here always has that faint smell of heated plastic because of the work we do. Inside the shed, the machines are pretty loud, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the hum. It is not a place for clean clothes; you are going to get some grease or dust on you by noon. We deal with polymers all day long. Sometimes the raw material shipments are late and we just sit around the gate waiting for the lorry to show up. It gets really hot in Odhav during the summer months, and the tin roof does not help much, so we drink a lot of water. There is a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledgers and the phone. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so there is always the sound of grinding or hammers hitting metal from next door. We have been at this spot, No. 45, for a long time. The floor is stained with old spills and the walls could use a coat of paint, but it works for what we need. We do not worry about the looks of the place. We just focus on the orders and getting them out the door before the day ends.
