Surat is famous for its history with diamonds and jewelry, and being in Haripura puts us right in the middle of all that activity. The streets around here are often crowded with people and scooters, especially during the peak hours of the day. Our office is a quiet space compared to the noise of the street outside. We have big windows that let in a lot of light, which is helpful when you are working with small items like gems. There are usually two or three of us at our desks, surrounded by scales and magnifying tools. The work requires a lot of patience and a steady hand.
