Down on Old Mahabalipuram Road, things are changing fast, but Natesan Precision Components Pvt. Ltd. is still here doing the same work we've always done. We make small parts, mostly. The machines make a lot of noise, so you get used to shouting a little bit just to be heard over the hum. It’s not a quiet place to spend your day. Most of us have been working here for a while and we know the machines better than we know our own cars. The floor is concrete and hard on the feet, but that's just how a factory is. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just focus on making sure the components are right. Sometimes things go wrong with a machine and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it. It’s frustrating, but it’s part of the job. We have a small break room where we eat lunch and talk about the news or whatever else is going on. The road outside is always full of trucks and cars going to the IT parks, but inside here, it's just us and the metal. We don't really think of ourselves as some big corporate entity. We're just a group of people making things that go into other things. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Even when it rains hard and the road gets flooded, we try our best to get here and keep the machines running.
