Swastik Textiles

Down in the basement here at 337/13, just behind Vijay Estate, things stay a bit cooler than they do out on the main road in Naroda. Swastik Textiles has been tucked away in this spot for a while, right across from Adinath. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you don’t know the area, but we like it because it gives us enough room to stack the fabric rolls without them getting in the way of the traffic outside. Ahmedabad gets incredibly hot in the summer, so being in the basement is actually a blessing for us and the materials. We spend most of our hours sorting through different types of cloth, checking the weaves, and getting orders ready for the local shops. There’s always a faint smell of cotton and dye in the air, which you just get used to after a week. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we have enough lamps to see the patterns clearly. Our daily routine is mostly about loading and unloading trucks that pull up near the estate entrance. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break, but usually, we are busy measuring out meters of fabric. We aren’t trying to be some massive corporation; we just want to make sure the textiles we send out are what people asked for. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us going every day.
