Sky Ceramics

Sky Ceramics is over at Plot No. 16/b in the Phase-3 area of GIDC. If you’ve ever been out this way, you know it’s mostly industrial sheds and wide roads with a lot of heavy vehicles moving around. It’s not the kind of place you come for a walk, but it works for what we do. We spend most of our time in the warehouse area, making sure the ceramic pieces are packed right so they don't break during transit. The plot is a decent size, and we’ve got enough room to store everything we need for the time being. It gets really quiet in the evenings once the other units close up, but during the day, it's a lot of engine noises and people shouting to be heard over the machinery nearby. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. Usually, one of us is just sitting at the desk near the entrance handling the paperwork while the others are in the back working. The sun hits the plot pretty hard in the afternoon, making the metal doors really hot to the touch. We usually bring our lunch from home and eat together in the small break area. It’s a simple routine. We’ve been in this GIDC spot for a bit now and we know the guys in the neighboring plots. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to stay on top of the orders. No one wears suits here; we just get on with the work.
