We’ve been here in Phase III of the GIDC estate in Naroda for quite some time now. Dealing with buses is what we do at Ruby Bus Pvt. Ltd. It’s mostly about getting the metal work right and making sure everything fits together. The shop floor is usually loud, but that’s just how it is when you’re building or fixing large vehicles. We don't really have a fancy office. People just come by the estate when they need something done. Sometimes the weather gets really hot inside the shed, especially in the summer months here in Gujarat, but the work doesn't stop. We have a crew that’s been around for years. They know the chassis and how to weld things so they actually stay put. It's not always pretty, and there's grease on most surfaces, but we get the buses out. Most days start early before the sun gets too high. We grab tea from the stall nearby and get to it. Some folks think the industrial area is a bit messy, but to us, it’s just where we work. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. It's mostly manual labor and making sure the parts are lined up. If you're driving through Naroda, you'll see our sign among all the other factories. It's a busy spot with trucks coming and going. We often move parts around with the old crane, which squeaks a lot, but it gets the job done. The guys usually eat lunch together under the shade of the tree.
