Navdeep Ceramics

Our workshop, Navdeep Ceramics, is located at Plot No. 42 in Phase 1 of the GIDC. Working in an industrial estate like this means we’re surrounded by factories, but we’ve carved out our own little space here. We work with clay and ceramic materials every day. It’s a bit of a messy business, with dust and crates everywhere, but that’s the reality of making things. We have our kilns and our workspace laid out so we can move around easily. We aren't a high-end design studio; we’re more of a practical manufacturing unit. Most of the time, you’ll find us in our work clothes, checking on a batch or loading up a truck. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they usually just come down to the plot and see the work in progress. It’s a lot of physical labor, and sometimes things don't go right in the firing process, which can be frustrating. But we just start over and try again. We’ve been part of the GIDC community for years now. We know the neighbors and the local suppliers well. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just make ceramics, try to do a decent job of it, and keep the business running from one month to the next. It’s a simple life, and we’re quite happy with the work we do.
