Our workshop is at 73-74 in the Amar Estate. We are right behind the fruit market on Naroda Road, so in the mornings, you can really smell the crates of fruit being unloaded. It’s a noisy area, between the market shouting and the traffic on Naroda Road. Inside our estate units, it’s mostly the sound of metal hitting metal or machines grinding away. We do a lot of heavy work here. The floors are concrete and usually have some oil spots or metal shavings on them. It’s a place for people who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We have some heavy machinery that takes up most of the space, so you have to be careful where you walk. We’ve been in Amar Estate for quite some time now. The guys here have been working together for years, so we don’t need to say much to get the job done. We just know the drill. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a particular piece that a customer needs urgently. There’s no fancy air conditioning, just some big fans that move the air around. It’s a very basic, honest industrial setup. We focus on the work on the bench and the orders that need to go out the door. The location is good for us because it’s easy for the big trucks to find, even if the fruit market traffic gets a bit annoying during the early hours.
