Amul Industries

You can find Amul Industries at Plot No. 182/4& 5 in Phase-1 of the GIDC. We have two sections of the plot where we do our work. It is a lot of space to keep track of, but we have a system that works for us. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings or scraps because we are always cutting or shaping something. We started out small and just stayed in this same spot as we got more machines. It is a loud environment with the sounds of heavy equipment, but we are used to it. The office is just a small corner walled off from the rest of the shop where we keep the papers and the phone. We don't have anyone dedicated to answering emails or doing social media, so we usually just talk to people on the phone or when they walk in. The GIDC is a busy place, and we are just one part of the noise. We have a few guys who have been working these machines since they were young. We don't change how we do things very often because the old ways still work fine for us. It’s just about showing up, turning on the power, and getting through the list of tasks. We keep it simple and don't try to be something we aren't.
