Akshay Industries

Naroda GIDC is a huge place and we are tucked away in Phase IV at plot 1109. It gets quite hot in the afternoons here especially with the machines running. We spend most of our hours on the shop floor checking the output. Akshay Industries has been operating from this C/1 spot for a good while. The neighbors are all doing different industrial things so it’s always loud with the sounds of metal and engines. We usually have the main shutter open to let some air in. Dealing with the logistics in Naroda can be a bit of a headache with the narrow lanes and the big trucks blocking the way. We keep our tools and materials organized as much as we can but on busy days there are parts everywhere. Lunch is usually a quick break where we sit around and talk about whatever is going on. Then it is back to the work. It’s a simple setup we have here. Nothing too special to look at but we get the job done. We check the stock levels every morning and plan out what needs to be finished by the evening. The floor gets greasy and the walls need a new coat of paint but it’s where we spend our lives. We just try to keep the machines in good shape so they don't break down at the wrong time. It’s a lot of manual labor but we like the routine.
