You can find us at Shrenik Avenue, right across from the Naranpura Police Chowki. We have two units there, 206 and 207, which gives us enough room to breathe. Naranpura Char Rasta is always jammed with cars and scooters, so there is never a dull moment looking out the window. We started Jay Exporters because we had some experience in the trade and wanted to do something on our own. It isn't a large company with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us who know how to handle the export side of things. We spend a lot of time dealing with the banks and the customs brokers. It can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we are used to it by now. The office is usually cluttered with folders and maybe some lunch boxes. We aren't very formal here; we just get to work and try to finish before the sun goes down. Sometimes we have to stay late if a shipment is delayed or if there's a problem with the paperwork. The local area has changed a lot since we moved in, but the police chowki across the street is a constant landmark. We don't do much marketing, mostly people find us through word of mouth or because they see the sign when they are stuck in traffic at the Char Rasta. It’s a practical way to run a business. We don't have any flashy brochures or a big sales team.
