Mehta Tube Corporation

Working at 82/86, Abdul Rehman Street is quite something if you aren't used to the chaos. This part of the city is always packed, and being on the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the street below, though mostly it’s just tops of trucks and people carrying loads. Mehta Tube Corporation has been in this spot for a while. The stairs up to our place are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to watch your step. It’s not one of those modern office buildings with glass walls. It’s an old structure with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it somewhat cool even when it’s roasting outside. We spend our days dealing with orders and talking to the transporters. The noise from the street never really stops, it’s like a constant hum of engines and shouting. We have our little routine here, starting early before the heat gets too bad. Usually, we have tea brought up from the stall downstairs around eleven. Everyone knows everyone on this block. It’s a tight space, full of metal and paperwork, but it’s where we feel at home. You won't find any plush carpets here, just concrete floors and heavy desks. It's a hardworking environment, and we like the fact that we're right in the middle of all the action on Abdul Rehman Street. It’s honest work in a busy place that has been the center of trade for decades.
