Ambica Medical Store

Ambica Medical Store is at No. 3 in the Ratna Complex. We are right opposite the Bank of Baroda near Maninagar. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. The shelves are filled with all sorts of medicines and health supplies. We’ve been here in the Maninagar area for quite a long time. People come in with their prescriptions and we do our best to find what they need quickly. It’s not a big supermarket-style pharmacy. It’s just a local counter where we know many of our customers by their first names. Sometimes the delivery guys bring the wrong boxes and we have to sort it out while customers are waiting. It gets a bit chaotic, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a fancy computerized system for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand. The Ratna Complex is an older building, so it has its quirks. We have a small fan behind the counter that squeaks, but we’re used to it. We don't do big promotions or sales. We just stay open late and try to be helpful. It’s a modest way to make a living. We’ve seen the kids in the neighborhood grow up and start coming in for their own families. It’s nice being part of the community like that. If you need something, you just stop by the complex. We’re usually there behind the counter ready to help out.
