M. B. Towel

Our shop is right in the middle of Paanch Kuva Kapad Bazaar, which as anyone knows, is always crowded and noisy. M. B. Towel has been at Towel House No. 527 for a long time. It’s a tight space, packed high with stacks of towels from the floor to the ceiling. Kalupur is where all the trade happens, so we are constantly moving boxes in and out through the narrow lanes. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to breathe when the new stock arrives. We deal with all sorts of cotton towels, some thick, some thin, mostly just everyday stuff people need for their homes. People come in from all over to buy in bulk, and we spend most of the day haggling or just counting out dozens. It’s not a polished store with glass windows; it’s a working warehouse and shop combined. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually the only break we get. My desk is buried under bills and samples. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop where you can feel the fabric for yourself. Dealing with the traffic in Kalupur is a headache, but this is where the business is. We just keep our heads down and keep the shelves full as best as we can.
