We are Kalandari Textiles, tucked away in the town of Dholka right near the Balapir Dargah in the Lilajpur area. This part of town is quite old and it definitely has its own slow pace. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with heavy rolls of fabric and stacks of different materials. It is not organized like a modern mall. You often have to move some piles around just to find exactly what you want. The smell of fresh cotton and fabric dye is always hanging in the air here. We have been a part of the Dholka community for quite a while now. Usually, it is just a few of us handling all the orders and helping people pick out what they need for their home projects. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. People mostly find our door because they live nearby or they heard about us from a neighbor at the market. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, and the shop can feel a bit cramped when everyone is looking for new cloth. We have some old wooden counters where we measure out the fabric by hand. The lighting inside is not the brightest, but it works fine for what we do. We try to keep things honest and just give people a fair price for whatever they buy. It is a simple business. We open up early, sweep the front, and start unrolling the stock for the day.
