Ratna Ply Board

We are located down in the Lati Bazar area, specifically near Nana Road by the Gita Mandir. It’s an old part of the city, and the streets are always full of trucks and carts. Our place is in Behrampura, Jamalpur. The smell of cut wood is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We have stacks of plywood and boards leaning against every wall. Some of them are so tall you have to be careful when walking past. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. My shirt is usually covered in sawdust by ten in the morning. We spend the day measuring pieces and loading them onto vehicles for the carpenters. The warehouse is big and drafty, which is good when it’s hot outside. We don’t have an air conditioner, just a couple of big fans that blow the dust around. There’s an old desk in the corner where we keep the receipts and the tea cups. It’s a simple operation. We deal with builders and furniture makers who just want good boards for their projects. We’ve been in Lati Bazar for ages, and we know most of the people who work the other stalls. It’s a loud place with the sound of saws and engines all day. We close up when the sun goes down and head home, ready to do it all again tomorrow.
