Our place, Ajay Elastic Pvt. Ltd., is over in Kuber Nagar, near the Lucky Saw Mill. If you know Naroda Road, we're right opposite the Ranjit Complex. We make elastics here. It’s a bit of a noisy environment with the machines running all day, but we've gotten used to it. Ahmedabad has always been a big hub for this kind of work, so we fit right in. The factory floor is usually covered in bits of thread and rolls of finished product waiting to be moved. We don't have a big fancy office or anything, just a desk near the front where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes the traffic on the road gets a bit crazy, especially during peak hours. We’ve been at this address for quite some time now. Dealing with different types of elastic materials keeps us on our toes. Some days the orders are small, other days we’re packing up big boxes for transport. It’s practical work. We have a small crew and we all know what needs to be done. It isn't always smooth, machines break down and we have to fix them, but that's part of the life here. Being near the saw mill means there's always activity around. We just keep our heads down and get the rolls out. It’s a decent living and we know our way around the materials pretty well. We hope to stay here for a long time.
