We are located at the Texcelance Complex. It’s right near Anupam Cinema in the Khokhra Mehemdavad area. If you’ve been to this part of town, you know it’s mostly industrial and very busy. There’s always trucks coming and going at all hours. Our space in the complex is where all the dyeing and textile work happens. It can get pretty humid in there because of the processes we use. We have a small crew that has been with us for a long time. They know the machines inside out and can fix them if they stop. Sometimes the noise from the cinema crowd mixes with the sound of our equipment during the evening shows. It’s a lively spot to be. We keep the rolls of fabric stacked up high near the entrance. Every morning starts with checking the schedules and making sure the dyes are ready for the batch. It isn’t the cleanest job, you’ll see spots of color on the floor and on our clothes too. That’s just the nature of the business. We don’t really have a front desk or a fancy waiting room. If someone comes by, they usually just find us on the floor working. We’ve been here at Ashima Dyecot for years. We grew into this space gradually as we got more equipment. It’s a bit tight but it works for what we do. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure colors look right.
