New Jyoti Cycle Motor Co. has been sitting right across from the Post Office in Khadia, Ahmedabad for quite some time. It is an old part of the city and we fit right in. We deal with cycles and motors, so there is always some grease on the floor and a bit of noise from the street. It’s not a quiet or polished showroom. It’s a real workshop where things get done. People stop by on their way to the post office to ask about a spare part or a repair. We talk to them plainly and tell them what can be done. We don't have any scripted sales pitches. Usually, we are busy with our hands, so we just give it to you straight. Ahmedabad is a fast city, but in Khadia, things feel a bit more traditional. We like it that way. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to be the place people can rely on when their bike has a problem. Our shop is full of parts and tools we have gathered over the years. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but we like the clutter. It shows we’ve been working. Just honest, local work. We have been here a long time and hope to stay.
