About Malhotra Alloys – Metals & Minerals in Ahmedabad
Malhotra Alloys is situated at Plot No. 1022 in the Kerala GIDC area, right along the Bavla Highway. Dealing with metal and alloys is heavy work, so the shop floor is usually covered in metal shavings and heavy tools. It’s a tough environment, but we’ve been doing this for quite a while now. From the furnaces and the melting process, the heat can be a lot, especially in the afternoons. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. Only a small group of us works here to make sure the alloy compositions are what they need to be. The highway location is practical because we get a lot of scrap metal delivered and then send out the finished blocks. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the mud during the monsoon season because the roads inside the GIDC aren't always great. We spend a lot of time checking the weights and making sure the molds are set properly. No fancy reception area exists here. If you come by, you'll probably find us on the floor with our sleeves rolled up. It's honest work. Big words aren't used to describe what we do. We just melt metal and cast it into the shapes required. Every day is pretty much the same, starting with the safety checks and ending with cleaning the tools. It’s a bit messy and loud, but that’s just the nature of working with alloys in a place like this.
