Our place is at Plot No. 829 in the Kerala GIDC area, right off the Bavla Highway. Being near the highway is handy for the big trucks that come to pick up our ceramic goods. The GIDC is a big place, and it can be easy to get turned around, but we’ve been at this specific plot for quite a bit. There’s always a lot of dust because of the clay and materials we use, so everything has a thin white coating on it by the end of the week. That’s just part of making ceramics. We have a couple of large kilns that stay hot most of the time. The workers here have a lot of experience with the firing process. It’s not an exact science sometimes, and you have to have a feel for it. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or shiny advertisements. Most of our customers find us because they’re in the trade and know the area. The office is just a simple room where we keep the registers and take orders. It’s usually pretty loud with the highway traffic and the machines, so we have to speak up. We just try to stay on top of the production schedule. Some days are better than others, especially when the weather is humid, which affects how things dry. We’re just a regular bunch of people working in the industrial belt. If you come by, you’ll see us busy with the clay.
