Jay Packaging Industries

Jay Packaging Industries is located over at Plot No. 495 on Road No. 13 in the Gidc. It’s basically a big warehouse filled with cardboard, tape, and packing materials. We spend a lot of time cutting, folding, and stacking boxes. The air is always a little dusty from the dry cardboard, and we have to keep the big bay doors open to stay cool. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find one of us moving a pallet or checking a manifest near the loading dock. It’s a straightforward operation. We get the raw materials in, turn them into whatever packaging is needed, and get them out to the customers. Sometimes the tape machines jam up and we have to spend twenty minutes picking at the plastic to get it moving again. It’s frustrating, but that’s just how it goes. We’ve got a small team here, and we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. We don’t bother with mission statements or big goals; we just want to make sure the boxes are sturdy enough for whatever is going inside them. The trucks start arriving early, so our days begin before the sun is really up. By the time we head home, we’re tired and covered in paper dust, but the warehouse is usually empty and ready for the next day's load.
